About Martin E. Mohler
Marty is a graduate of John Carroll University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in English, Cum Laude, in 1970. Thereafter, he obtained his law degree from the University of Toledo, College of Law, in 1973, and has been admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit, the U.S. Tax Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. Marty has an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell and was recognized as a top rated attorney by Super Lawyers for the last three years. Marty received the Distinguished Toledo Lawyer award on May 5, 2016 from the Toledo Bar Association.
Marty was immediate past president of the Ohio State Bar Association and currently serves as an officer on the board. He is also a past President of the Toledo Bar Association. In addition to the Ohio State Bar Association and Toledo Bar Association, he is a member of the Federal Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and Toledo Bar Association. He has also served on the Board of Governors of the Ohio State Bar Association.
Marty is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Toledo Legal Aid Society and the Advocates for Basic Legal Equity and Legal Aid of Western Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio Bar College and the National Conference of Bar Presidents. He is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Maumee Valley Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Marty is a chairman of the Facility Governing Board for the Correctional Treatment Facility for Lucas County, Ohio.
Marty practices in the fields of civil and criminal trial practice, corporate/business, personal injury, wrongful death, family/domestic relations, probate and estate planning, real estate, attorney discipline/ethics and arbitration/mediation.
Marty and his wife, Terri, live in Sylvania Township and have four (4) children and two (2) grandchildren. Jarrod, the oldest, is an attorney in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bryan, a former tennis pro and stock broker, is an attorney in New York City. Lindsay graduated from Xavier and lives in Cincinnati. Colin graduated from Ohio University and lives and works in New York City.
